The American Biofuels Council is the national institute for biofuel research, analysis, development, and education in the United States. We are a think and do tank with a heavy emphasis on technology transfer. ABC is the leading solutions provider in the field of biofuels. A collaborative organization, which coordinates and interacts with a broad range of cooperators including private enterprise, government, and academia. ABC is also a leading adviser to energy companies, transportation sectors, financial institutions, technology providers, governments, and most importantly to consumers.
We deliver accurate analysis and real world solutions on biofuel technologies, markets, industry trends, geopolitics, and strategy. Our work helps decision makers formulate successful plans. ABC is valued for our independence, fundamental research, foresight, and original thinking. ABC’s expertise covers all biofuel sectors on a national basis with a "Fields to Wheels" approach.
The Council asserts that biofuels, as a group, are an integral part of an overall energy policy for government, enterprise, and consumers, and that the biofuels community has a critical role to play in the national energy security and sustainability leadership.
The Council also serves as an information network that is fully equipped to educate the public, media, and elected officials about the true economic and environmental impacts associated with the production and use of all biofuels derived from biomass.

We are completely feedstock and fuel neutral and we do not advocate that "ethanol from corn" is the THE solution. There's no silver bullet when it comes to arriving at next-generation fuel sources and technologies.
We advocate a diversified and sensible approach in transitioning from petroleum to biofuels. Feedstocks used should be those that provide the highest yields while having minimal impact on the environment and food prices. Everything from agricultural residue to waste water, sweet sorghum, sugar cane, and algae all have a role to play in biofuels.
Energy Security, National Security, Economic Development, and Environmental concerns are all growing significantly and increasing the demand for biofuels and other biobased products.
We envision a nation...
Where energy security is achieved by combining responsible agricultural practices with innovative technological advances.
Where the transformation of biomass into biofuels is a leading source of clean renewable fuels.
Where renewable, sustainable, and affordable fuels are a reality.
It's time to think outside the barrel.
