The American Biofuels Council is the national institute and coordinating body for biofuel research and development in the United States. ABC is a comprehensive organization, which coordinates and interacts with a broad range of cooperators including private industry, government, and academia. ABC is also a leading adviser to energy companies, transportation sectors, financial institutions, technology providers, governments, and most importantly to consumers.

ABC delivers critical knowledge and independent analysis on biofuel markets, industry trends, geopolitics, and strategy. Our work helps decision makers anticipate the future of transportation fuels and formulate timely, successful plans in the face of rapid changes and uncertainty. ABC is valued for our independence, fundamental research, foresight, and original thinking. ABC’s expertise covers all major biofuel sectors on a national and regional basis.

The Council advocates that biofuels, as a group, are an integral part of an overall energy policy for government, enterprise, and consumers, and that the biofuels community has a critical role to play in the national energy leadership.

The Council also serves as an information network that is fully equipped to educate the public, media, and elected officials about the economic and environmental benefits associated with the production and use of biofuels derived from biomass.

We are completely feedstock and fuel neutral and we do not advocate that "ethanol from corn" is the THE solution. There's no silver bullet when it comes to arriving at next-generation fuel sources and technologies.

Our position is that it is going to take diversifying the types of fuels and the sources of those fuels to address the number of problems we are facing.

We envision a nation...   Where energy independence and security are achieved by combining responsible, sustainable agricultural and forestry practices with cutting edge technological innovation.

Where broad access to sustainable, renewable and affordable fuels is a reality.

Where the transformation of biomass into biofuels is a leading source of renewable fuels.
